Spellie is a spelling helper app designed for children. We take privacy seriously, especially when it comes to young users.
Spellie does not collect names, email addresses, or any information that identifies you or your child. No accounts are required.
When you tap the microphone, your device's speech recognition converts your voice to text locally using Apple's on-device framework. The raw audio is never stored or transmitted.
For Spellie Pro subscribers, the transcribed text (e.g. "the animal that says woof") is sent to our server to look up the correct spelling using Google Gemini. This text is used only to generate a response and is not stored or linked to any user identity.
Spellie Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store. All billing and payment information is handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details.
We do not use advertising networks or sell any data to third parties.
Spellie is designed for use by young children under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. No user accounts, profiles, or persistent identifiers are created.
We do not store personal data. Spelling query results may be cached temporarily on our server to improve performance, but they contain no identifying information.
